Take a couple small pieces of fabric that you can't stand to throw out combined with an urge to organize and minimize that sewing "mess" and what do you get?
Here's a peek at some of the individual blocks:
Even the back features a safari theme.
Welcome, we are three quilters trying and failing to finish
up three
generations of half finished projects.
Our projects range from super
easy weekend quilts to
paper piecing, embroidery and applique.
We have high hopes
of finishing our projects soon really really soon,
just as soon as
we try this cool new pattern...

Hearts and Arrows, a Doll Quilt
With a bunch of leftover hearts and leftover red scraps, we put together this quilt for a little girl to pack around or wrap up her dolly (or was it doggy?).

Crazy Patch Quilt for a Baby Girl
S loves crazy patchwork so what better choice for a baby quilt for a friend. Instead of an overall patchwork pattern, we chose to make and piece together blocks. As a child, this friend loved strawberry shortcake. We happened to have a piece in our stash and it became the back.

Aug's Quilt -- Amish
One of the best things about moving to the greater Seattle area? I could join a quilt guild. My second month, I turned in blocks for the block of the month and won! The pattern was an Amish-inspired block. I added a bunch more squares and turned it into a quilt for one of the kids. It also features my first attempt at machine quilting. I learned many things like squaring your quilt is important and using a sheet for a back just doesn't work. The end result though was wonderful. Here it is and a close up of a bit of the quilting.
Have you ever taken part in a group project like a round robin, brown bag or block of the month?
